June 24, 2026: NC General Assembly ratified a bill to move Catawba County municipal elections to even-numbered years. SL 2026-18 (Part IX). The next election cycle for municipal elections will be 2028.

This is the first general election to include all 3 county school systems - 2024 May Republican Second Primary

2023 Municipal Elections
All three school boards became partisan via Session Law 2023-32 6/08/2023. Newton-Conover Schools and Hickory Public Schools elections move to even-numbered years
