Catawba County Technology strives to partner with our customers and stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service as well as relevant and cost-effective solutions to enhance county business operations. Providing easily accessible information and services to citizens, as well as our community partners, is a fundamental objective of the department. The department supports all County departments, and several municipalities across Catawba County.

To provide reliable, responsive, value-added solutions while ensuring system availability, integrity, and security through exceptional customer service, partnerships, and leveraging resources to transform services and promote business process improvement.

To provide reliable geographic data and tools to citizens and stakeholders to facilitate commerce and promote efficiencies. GIS fosters collaborative efforts and promotes good government as a multi-jurisdictional initiative involving the integration of resources from the County and the participating municipalities.

Infrastructure Team

The Infrastructure Team supports the county network, phone, storage, wireless, security cameras and server environment. This consists of over 250 virtual and physical servers, over 125 network devices and over 100 wireless access points. We also manage two Storage Area Networks which provides over 80 TB’s of data storage for the county

Application Development Team

The Application Development Team is comprised of staff members who work on a variety of projects, spanning all County departments, as well as some outside agencies. This team develops in-house applications, as well as implements 3rd-party software applications, to assist the workforce, citizens, and other agencies with their everyday tasks and data need

GIS Team

Geospatial Information Services (GIS) provides tools to the user community to enhance and improve the quality of geographically related services including, but not limited to, planning, building inspections, environmental health, emergency services, economic development, infrastructure, management, facilities’ management, and parcel editing. The GIS division is also responsible for Land Records Management , which includes parcel mapping as well as processing deeds, plats, and other legal documents impacting land ownership for taxation purposes.

Project Management Team

Project Managers provide technical project management services for all major projects to help assure that best practices and processes are being implemented. Project managers also provide a single point of contact for communication with vendors, departments, and technology staff.
