All Catawba County Government offices, including parks, libraries, the Landfill and convenience centers, will be closed Monday, January 26.

Records

The Records Division is responsible for collecting, maintaining, and disseminating information to law enforcement agencies and the public and managing case reports for Patrol, Investigations, and the Detention Facility. Additional responsibilities include central warrant repository, child support show cause papers, orders for arrest, background checks for handgun purchase permits and alcohol and drug abuse, private attorney criminal history checks, officer criminal history checks for court, public fingerprinting, county employment background checks, concealed carry permits, domestic violence orders and sex offender public registration files.

Incident-based reporting is submitted by the Records Division to the State of North Carolina and is included in the Uniform Crime Report. The Uniform Crime Report is maintained by the Records Division and lists crime statistics for the Sheriff's Office.
