Catawba County Tier II Reporting Season is Here

The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) requires Catawba County companies and businesses with hazardous chemicals at their facilities to report their chemicals and quantities by March 1 of each year. For Catawba County and the State of North Carolina those reports must be entered in Eplan https://tier2.erplan.net/onlinefiling/filingLogin.htm  Please make plans to submit these reports soon. Reports can be updated year-round at the link above.

The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) of 1986 was created to help communities plan for chemical emergencies. It also requires industry to report on the storage, use and releases of hazardous substances to federal, state, and local governments. EPCRA requires state and local governments, and Indian tribes to use this information to prepare for and protect their communities from potential risks.  Residents can find information about EPCRA at https://www.epa.gov/epcra/what-epcra.
