Food Assistance
Catawba County Animal Services (CCAS) Pet Food Assistance Program is to help people and their families who are facing challenges feeding their pets.
One in four pet owners who surrender their pets to a shelter say it is because they cannot afford to care for them. By CCAS providing temporary food assistance, the pets stay in a loving home. Our assistance is limited to the types of food and supplies that have been donated. We cannot guarantee we will always be able to fill all requests, especially requests for specific brands of food or specialty diets. Pet food can be received by a household one (1) time every thirty (30) days. We can only accept applications from residents of Catawba County.
Assistance will be on a case-by-case basis. CCAS cannot provide any medical assistance for an owned pet. CCAS reserves the right to remove clients from the program at their discretion.
NOTE: CCAS’s Food Pantry relies on support from the community to help collect food to support their mission. Sponsoring a food drive can be easy, fun, and rewarding. Encourage friends, family, businesses, churches, or schools to get involved and participate.
Pick up hours are between 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM from the Animal Shelter located at 201 Government Services Drive Newton, NC 28658.
