Celebrate National Library Week 2025!

What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.
National Library Week, April 6-12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.
At the Catawba County Library, we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you're a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer including free Wi-Fi, computer access, digital and physical collections, career workshops, makerspaces, book clubs as well as early literacy, STEAM, and sensory-friendly programs.
This National Library Week, we’re celebrating all the ways people are Drawn to the Library! Each day highlights a different aspect of what makes our library essential—from discovery and connection to outreach, support, and celebration. No matter what draws you in, there’s something for everyone!
Monday, April 7: Accessibility Day - Libraries are for everyone! We're highlighting resources that make reading and learning more accessible, including sensory-friendly play spaces, adaptive technology, audiobooks, weighted-font books, and access to the State Library of NC’s Accessible Books and Library Services.
Tuesday, April 8: Library Workers Day – Celebrate the dedication and contributions of library workers! Join us on social media to highlight the library’s stellar staff. Show your appreciation by submitting a free STAR for your favorite library worker at www.surveymonkey.com/r/SubmitAStarforNLWD
Wednesday, April 9: Outreach Day – Celebrate the many ways our library connects with the community! From Library to Go and remote pickup lockers to school visits, digital navigators, and outreach by our dedicated staff, we’re building relationships and ensuring everyone has access to the information and resources they need.
Thursday, April 10: Supporting Our Libraries Day – Show your appreciation for the library! Thank your elected officials for their support by sending a card, or make a lasting impact with a gift to the library’s endowment fund. Your advocacy and support help ensure innovative, responsive library services and a bright future for our community.
Friday, April 11: Celebrating Our Libraries Day – For 89 years, the library has been making. living. better. in Catawba County! Join us on social media as we celebrate our libraries and reflect on some of our favorite moments from the past year and beyond.
