Briefly describe the area you are spotlighting. What is its mission/purpose?
The Catawba County Human Resources department provides quality, comprehensive services to over 16 departments and over 1,200 employees. We are responsible for policy development, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, wellness, and risk management.
Our department strives to recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, well-qualified, and professional workforce that reflects the high standards of the community we serve. As a department, we empower employees to be collaborative, innovative, and responsible throughout the work life cycle.
How do you achieve your mission – what services are offered?

The HR team provides a wide range of services to internal and external stakeholders.

Who does this department/service area/program serve?
The Human Resources team serves both internal and external stakeholders.
Internal: All county employees.
External: Members of the general public, job applicants, and contracted service providers who interact with the county for employment or HR-related services.
How and where are services delivered?
HR is located at the Government Center. Our staff can be seen all over the County assisting with interviews, job studies, safety meetings, and overall consultation. HR can also be seen at job fairs and other community events when able.
