Letters of Thanks

Southwest Branch Library
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, all patrons are encouraged to visit the library any time during the month of November to write letters to those they are grateful for—whether friends, family, or community members. We will provide the stationery, envelopes, and stamps, so simply stop by the circulation desk to request your stamp (if you choose to mail).
Zumba LIVE with Honey & Jossiah
Mondays, November 29 at 6 pm
Outside the Catawba County Museum of History

Kick off your week with a burst of Zumba, a dance and movement activity that’s too much fun to call exercise. It’s appropriate for every skill and ability level and open to anyone 14+ (parental signature required for teens under 18).

Stop by the Southwest Branch on Mondays to enjoy a family-friendly holiday film. We’ll kick off the series on November 29 with Home Alone at 3:30 pm & Home Alone 2 at 5:30 pm and continue in December with Elf, The Grinch, and Polar Express. Even the biggest Grinches won’t be able to resist the holiday spirit!
Japanese Culture Club

St. Stephens Branch Library
Introducing a family-friendly event where each month we’ll explore the amazing world of Japanese culture through origami, calligraphy, games, and more! Join us as we learn about Japanese gardens and make our own miniature rock garden. All ages welcome, but children younger than 8 may need adult assistance with some activities. Center & Venture: Tai Chi & Hike
Tuesday, November 30 at 3:30 pm
Baker’s Mountain Park
Certified personal trainer and tai chi instructor Dr. George Place will lead us in finding inner peace and outer adventure as we gather at parks around the county for a 30 minutes of tai chi movements, followed by an hour’s hike. You’ll find everything you need to improve your sense of well-being: stretching, activity, calm and nature in the company of friends. Waiver required on site or at tinyurl.com/ccls-CenterVenture-reg.

A Small Town Tree Lighting
Sunday, November 28 at 6pm
Downtown Catawba
Catawba will be hosting a tree lighting! There’ll be choirs, free carriage rides, photos with Santa, and more fun. Come join us for activities and visit the businesses in downtown Catawba as well!
