STEAM: Build a Musical Instrument Challenge
Tuesday, March 22 at 6 pm
Maiden Branch Library

Design, build, and test your very own musical instrument. What sounds does it make? Can you change the sounds by changing the design? Choose from a variety of materials including shoeboxes, cardboard, cans, rubber bands, beads, straws, balloons, water bottles, and many other things. Tools for decorating your instrument will be available. This event was created for children aged 7-12, but all ages are welcome. To register, please visit

Needle Felting for Teens

Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch Library

Learn the textile art of needle felting as we create decorative Easter Eggs. Please note, needle felting uses a sharp, barbed tool that can easily result in pricked fingers; finger protectors will be available for participants to use. To register, visit the library or call 828-466-6827.

Hands Only CPR
Saturday, March 19 at 11 am
Conover Branch Library

A 30-minute training teaching hands-only technique for CPR. Participants learn how to check for consciousness, call 911 (or the local emergency number), and give continuous chest compressions. CPR training certification is not provided through this course.

Eat This, Not That
Monday, March 21 at 11 am
Main Library in Newton

Inspired by the book series and the blog, we’re taking a look at restaurant entrees and grocery store choices. This workshop will open your eyes to getting great flavor without sabotaging your health.

Senior Bingo
