Pollination Station: Live Butterflies

Visit our live caterpillars as they become butterflies at the library! Learn about the life cycle of butterflies, the importance of pollinators for the environment, and how we can protect and support them. Activities for children learning how pollination works will be available coupled with a small take home goodie to start your very own butterfly garden at home. Capturing Creative Images of Water

Riverbend Park
We’ll take advantage of the early morning light to learn about photographing water and water landscapes to produce visually interesting images. We are pleased to have published photographer and CVCC instructor Joe Young on hand to share his knowledge with us. Get the most out of this workshop with your traditional camera but a cell phone camera can be used. It’s also suggested to bring a tripod if you have one available. If you wish, you can submit your best image to Catawba County Parks’ Monthly Photo Contest – the theme for April is ‘Spring.’
