Tales in the Garden

Main Library in Newton
Join us for this in person, outdoor gathering which includes bilingual stories, crafts, and activities. Our November program will be all about dinosaurs and feature a fun Dinosaur Stomp with Stretch and Grow. The series will meet the 3rd Monday of the month through December. Please bring your own blanket or camp chair.

Do you want to make your own cards for the holidays? Join us for a Canva tutorial that will cover how to use card templates and make the most of the free options of this service. We will also discuss options for making your own printable cards using Microsoft Publisher and ways you can use your local library to print your creations. Letters of Thanks

Southwest Branch Library
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, all patrons are encouraged to visit the library any time during the month of November to write letters to those they are grateful for—whether friends, family, or community members. We will provide the stationery, envelopes, and stamps, so simply stop by the circulation desk to request your stamp (if you choose to mail).

Medicare plans can change each year. During open enrollment, you have the opportunity to change your coverage. Take advantage of a one-on-one consultation with a rep from the Council on Aging to review your needs and select the best Medicare plan for you. Zumba LIVE with Honey & Jossiah

Join us for an exciting day as a stop on the Downtown Newton Christmas Crawl. The day will include a Folk Art Pop Up in support of artists selected for the 2021-2022 Foothills Folk Art Festival, a creation station and bag decorating youth booth, and an author visit with Tonja Smith.

Take part in Newton’s Christmas Crawl and visit with local author, artist, and inspiration, Tonja Smith, as she shares about her newly published children’s book, Bailey, Bleecker and Banjo: Linville Gorge. She’ll read the story to us, talk about and answer questions regarding how she created the book. Then we’ll make a cute dog bookmark to take home. You’ll also find out how this special children’s story will soon become a part of Downtown Newton’s legacy of kindness.

The Art of Eggrolls: How to Make Healthy Hmong Eggrolls

Local History Librarian, Alex Floyd, will share with us a range of resources that he uses to help people follow their histories and learn about their ancestors.
