T-Rex Tea Party
Saturday, November 9 at 10:30 am
You're cordially invited to join us for a dinosaur tea party and story time! We’ll enjoy dinosaur-themed stories and songs before moving on to tea and treats, and you can even try your hand at dino-crafts. Fancy dress is optional. No live dinos, please! Ideal for ages 3 to 10, but all are welcome. Registration required.

Gratitude in the Garden

Our community garden needs to be prepped for the spring, and we're excited to ask you for help! If you enjoy being outside and working in the soil, we’d be happy to have you join us. Friends of the Catawba County Library Meeting
Monday, November 11 at 11 am
Help the library fulfill its mission by planning and participating in efforts to raise funds and increase access. Meets each second Monday.

English as a Second Language Classes
Mondays, November 11, 18, and 25 at 5:30 pm (beginner) and 6:30 pm (conversation/intermediate)

Zumba

Fill Out Your FAFSA
Tuesday, November 12 at 5:30 pm
Skip Watts from the College Foundation will help students fill out and submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online. Attendees should bring their social security number, most recent federal income tax return(s), records of bank accounts and investments (if applicable), records of any untaxed income (if applicable), and their FSA ID and PIN if they've previously applied. Registration required.

Educated About...Ruby Ridge
Friday, November 15 at 11 am
In Educated, author Tara Westover describes her memories of her father’s perspective of the events that transpired in August of 1992 in Naples, Idaho, in which members of the Weaver family were involved in a controversial encounter with members of federal law enforcement. This workshop with CVCC history professor Jeremy Wilson will shed light on what is currently known about the Ruby Ridge incident, its aftermath, and its broader impact.

Tai Chi for Healthy Living 
Fridays, November 15 and 22 at 11 am
Combining the Tai Chi for Health and A Matter of Balance principles, this research-based class aims to increase activity levels, enhance fitness, and prevent falls in adults of all ages. It is taught by a certified instructor. Participants are asked to complete a survey and sign a waiver. Come early to your first class to complete the paperwork.
