Ident-a-Kid

The Catawba County Sheriff's Office is offering a free identification service. In the event of an emergency, child ID cards provide crucial information. Available for children of all ages.

Harry Potter Party
Wednesday, July 31 at 2 pm
Celebrate Harry Potter's birthday! We'll test your memory with trivia as we make a craft and enjoy snacks.

Kick off your week with this dance/movement activity that’s too much fun to call exercise. Appropriate for every skill and ability level, open to ages 14+ (parental signature required for those under 18).

English as a Second Language Classes

ESL classes are terrific resources for people whose native language is not English. Through instruction and conversation, participants will gain confidence and skills in speaking, reading, and comprehension. For details, call the library.

Tai Chi
Thursdays at 6 pm
Reduce stress and anxiety while increasing flexibility and balance. Suitable for all fitness levels, open to ages 14 and up (parental signature required for teens under 18).

Coding Basics: Level 1
Tuesday, July 30 at 4 pm
This class explores the basic concepts of coding. Participants will learn how computers use code, how to identify basic coding terms, and what types of coding languages are used and for what purposes.

Saturday, July 27 from 11 am-1 pm
Learn about space and science during a visit to this inflatable planetarium. Inside, embark on a galactic travel experience. Each "show" is approximately 20 minutes long.

Catawba Science Center: Animals Inside & Out
Tuesday, July 30 at 4 pm
Meet live animals and examine pelts, teeth, bones, and scat. Learn about butterflies and other animals that go through metamorphosis.

Celebrate the end of Summer Learning with an ice cream party and prizes for completing your summer reading goals. Your reading log is your ticket into the party and to get you entered into the drawing for more prizes!
