Thanksgiving Holiday Closures

Catawba County government offices and facilities will observe the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday as follows:

Catawba County government offices will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25. They will reopen following their usual hours Monday, November 28.

The Catawba County Park System (Bakers Mountain, Mountain Creek, Riverbend and St. Stephens) will be closed Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 24) but will reopen Friday, November 25 and will remain open through the holiday weekend following usual operating hours.

All Catawba County Library System branches (Newton, Claremont, Conover, Maiden, Sherrills Ford-Terrell, Southwest and St. Stephens) will be closed Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 and will reopen Saturday, November 26 following their usual hours.

The Catawba County Animal Shelter will be closed Thursday, November 24 through Saturday, November 26 and will reopen at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29. The shelter is not open on Sundays and Mondays.

The Blackburn Sanitary Landfill and all five solid waste convenience centers (Blackburn, Bethany Church Road, Cooksville, Oxford and Sherrills Ford) will be closed Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 24) but will reopen Friday, November 25 following their usual hours. The Blackburn Construction and Demolition Landfill will be closed both Thursday and Friday, November 24 and 25, and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. Monday, November 28.
