Catawba County United Way Awards $24,300 to Senior Nutrition Services
Catawba County United Way awarded Catawba County Senior Nutrition Services $24,300 to help cover meal costs for Meals on Wheels and Seniors Morning Out programs during calendar year 2020. This award allows Senior Nutrition Services to purchase approximately 5,031 meals, which is equivalent to feeding 24 program receipts for almost an entire year.
Meals on Wheels and Seniors Morning Out provide a nutritious meal and so much more. Programs provide a social connection and a safety check for seniors. Recipients in Catawba County report feeling happier and healthier after starting the programs. More seniors are able to remain independent and in their own homes for longer, prolonging placement in a care facility.
Catawba County United Way helps make Meals on Wheels and Seniors Morning Out accessible for seniors, providing funding to keep waitlists and wait times for services minimal. Thank you to United Way for generously supporting seniors in Catawba County!
