Join the Library to Go at Summer @ Smyrna
Published: June 17, 2021
The Library to Go, the Catawba County Library’s mobile library, is partnering with Smyrna Church for twice-monthly stopovers in the Town of Catawba. These Summer @ Smyrna visits take place outdoors on the second and fourth Fridays of each month at 6770 Sherrills Ford Road, Catawba, NC.
The next gathering is slated for Friday, June 25 from 5-7 pm.
At the relaxed outings, you can enjoy stories, games, arts and crafts, movies, food, and more. The evening events are family-friendly, free of charge, and open to everyone.
To engage people, the Library to Go supplies books for check-out while church members and volunteers assist kids who would like to practice reading. They also facilitate book discussions for attendees and participate in read-aloud sessions with children.
Later in the summer, the church will host a variety of first responder groups. Members will talk about the work they do and share tips for being prepared for emergencies. They’ll also provide an overview of what to expect if you’re transported in an emergency vehicle.
In July, the events will take place on Friday, July 9 and Friday, July 23.
