Grandparents Day Celebration

National Grandparents Day is observed on the first Sunday after Labor Day, and in 2019, that will be September 8. Traditionally, it’s a day that families honor grandparents with special outings, homemade treats, and opportunities to share memories and heritage.

At the Library, we’ll be hosting our own celebration a few days later than the official observance. Children are invited to bring their grandparents along with them, and as a meaningful ‘thank you,’ kids will interview grandparents and get to know them better, learning about their lives, interests, and more. After the interviews, children and grandparents will create a keepsake to help both parties remember their time together.

To participate, simply come to the St. Stephens Branch Library at 4 pm on Thursday, September 12. We’ll have everything set up for the fun program, and light refreshments will be served.
