Commissioners Officially Break Ground at Mountain Creek Park

(Pictured L-R) On October 9, Catawba County Commissioners Sherry Butler, Kitty Barnes, Dan Hunsucker, Vice Chair Barbara Beatty and Chair Randy Isenhower celebrated the official groundbreaking of Mountain Creek Park, Catawba County’s planned 606-acre park scheduled to open Summer 2021 in Sherrills Ford. Phase I of the park will feature a variety of amenities including an 18-mile trail network, pickleball courts, a mountain bike pump track, an adventure playground, a dog park, and canoe and kayak access to Lake Norman. The park’s design/build partners are Wirth & Associates, J.D. Goodrum General Contractors and Elevated Trail Designs.
