Catawba County’s Riverbend Park and St. Stephens Park will remain closed Tuesday as crews work to clear ice and snow for public access. Bakers Mountain Park is open.

All Catawba County Library System branches (Newton, Claremont, Conover, Maiden, Sherrills Ford-Terrell, Southwest and St. Stephens) will close at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners meeting will take place as scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday night in the Board of Commissioners Meeting Room at the Catawba County Justice Center in Newton. The two public hearings on the agenda will accept public comments this evening and at the next scheduled board meeting (February 7) to accommodate weather concerns.

Catawba County Seniors Morning Out sites will be closed Wednesday, January 19 due to Greenway Public Transit’s 3-hour delay Wednesday morning. Meals on Wheels of Catawba County will not operate on Wednesday due to the condition of secondary roads in the county.

The Blackburn Convenience Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, after being closed Monday and Tuesday due to weather conditions. The Bethany Church Road and Oxford convenience centers will be open Wednesday following their usual schedules.
