The Catawba County Library System is pleased to announce Jenny Gerami-Markham as its new Assistant Director. Gerami-Markham joined the Catawba County Library System in 2016 and most recently served as the Library Services Manager. Her experience will further enhance the library's mission of providing residents with the innovative programs and resources needed to connect, explore, and grow.

“I am excited to be part of a team that continues building partnerships that look to the future, empower lives, and build community,” Gerami-Markham shared. “The library remains dedicated to serving the community in ways that reflect our county’s values, and I’m looking forward to serving in this new capacity.”

Gerami-Markham is a recent graduate of the Leadership Catawba program through The Chamber of Catawba County and the Leadership Institute through the North Carolina Library Association. She has served on numerous community and state-level boards and organizations, including her current role as a member of the NC Public Library Standards working group.

Gerami-Markham received her Master of Library Science degree from East Carolina University and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lenoir-Rhyne University. She also holds an NC Public Librarian Certification.

“The library is so fortunate to have someone of Jenny’s caliber on the team,” Siobhan Loendorf, Library Director, stated. “She lives and breathes the library’s mission and vision and is always working to find ways to make things better for our community members and our library staff.”

Gerami-Markham is proud to call Catawba County home, especially the Conover area where she has enjoyed raising her family.
