Tips for Outdoor Photography
Published: April 16, 2019
Do you wish your photos turned out as well in reality as they do in your head? Do you get frustrated that your snapshots aren’t capturing the beauty in front of you?
If that’s the case, you’ll want to come out for this outdoor photography workshop, hosted by CVCC photographic technology director Clayton Joe Young. He’ll demonstrate how to make the most of your camera – whether it’s a smartphone or a DSLR – and provide some useful strategies to align your skills with your vision.
Young will cover the essentials – composing a shot, factoring in light conditions, dealing with distance and motion – and will teach participants how to avoid common pitfalls.
After the instructional part of the seminar, students will head outside to put the theory into practice. Working in the field is the best way to figure out how to make technical and artistic decisions on the fly, respond to favorable or unfavorable conditions, and think smartly and quickly so as not to miss a great shot.
The workshop meets at 4 pm on Thursday, April 25 at the Main Library in Newton. To register, please call 828.465.8665, and don’t forget to bring your camera along!
