Why you are excited about working for Catawba County or local government again?
I truly enjoy working in local government and I want to serve. I look forward to learning the county side of local government.

Brief work history: 
2003 – 2014 Frye Regional Medical Center – I had a variety of different positions. My last position title was HR Business Partner. 
2014-2023 City of Hickory – Titles: HR Analyst – Employment, Organizational Development Coordinator and Employee Relations Manager
2023-2024 Frye Regional Medical Center – Employee Relations Manager

What is the County core value you believe most relates to the work you do, and why?
Doing what’s right. I’ve been an HR professional for many years. You must be ethical, conscientious, and have strong morals and integrity. I treat everyone with respect and will strive to do what’s right in any situation. 

Where did you grow up?
Hudson, NC

Anything personal you want to share?
I’m married to my best friend, Bruce and we have two children, Caleb and Noah. We also have a grandson, Carson. Lastly, we have 4 pets. Sally and Luna (dogs) and Carl and Kitty Kitty (cats). 

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Spending time with my family. We love good food. My goal for 2024 is to grow my gardening skills. There is something therapeutic about watching a plant grow and thrive. 

Favorite movie, TV show, and/or book?
 I enjoy reality and true crime series.

Favorite musical artist or genre?
My favorite genre is 90s Alternative. However, I enjoy all music.

Favorite sports team(s)?
Sorry, I’m not a sports fan.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
If I had one superpower, it would be to slow down time. Especially, when my children were young.
