From stay-at-home mom to breastfeeding peer counselor, Yowill McAbee has transformed herself into a public health advocate. McAbee joined Catawba County Public Health as a breastfeeding peer counselor in the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program in early 2016.
“I was a stay-at-home mom for three years and when I decided to come back into the workforce, I wanted to pursue something where I would be working with the public. My passion is helping others,” she said.PDF file
