Make Your Own Vision Board
September 18, 2018
Do you often have exciting plans for how you’re going to change your life or introduce new habits into your daily routine? As with New Year’s resolutions, we’re frequently able to envision change more easily than we can implement it. And that discrepancy can lead to anxiety when the desire obstinately resists the reality.
Well, help is on the way. To gain progress in September (which is National Self-Improvement Month), we’ll be teaching teens a technique for making the dream more accessible. It’s called vision boards.
Essentially, vision boards are tangible reminders of your future goals. They take what’s in your head and make these ideas more visible and more constant in your life. They also hold you accountable to the ideas so that you’re more motivated to achieve.
If you’d like to learn how to translate your goals into words, phrases, images, and more, join us as we clarify the process and help you get started on what’s sure to be a productive and affirming exercise. We’ll provide all the materials, so come with an idea of what you want to work toward – whether it’s a personal goal, an academic one, a sports one, or something else entirely. We’ll be there to support your vision and help you make it tangible and attainable!
To register for the workshop, please call 828.466.6821. We’ll meet Monday, September 24 at 6 pm at the St. Stephens Branch Library.
