Library to Go Ribbon Cutting
November 19, 2018
Library to Go is Catawba County’s new mobile library – and it’s about ready to hit the road!
For many months, the library staff has been working behind the scenes to prepare for the roll-out. Essentially a traveling location of the Catawba County Library, it brings empowering services and resources from within the library walls and into communities that need them the most.
The Library to Go features lots of colorful graphics and is equipped with computers, solar panels, an awning, exterior lighting, and wireless access points. When it arrives for a visit, we’ll unload it and set up bookshelves, work tables, technologies, lounging spaces, and play and learning areas – creating a temporary, ever-changing library space designed for interactive learning and exploration.
To kick off the launch of the Library to Go, we hosted a ribbon cutting at noon on Thursday, November 29 at the Newton Recreation Center with interactive spaces set up for viewing and tours.
For more details about this new exploration station, visit the Library to Go page, where you can also fill out a request for a visit to your non-profit organization or community event.
