Learn the Three R's of Music
Published: September 18, 2018
Do you love music? Are you curious about how it’s used to encourage or reinforce behaviors? Musician and educator Joyce O’Neal will be presenting an entertaining evening of music for all ages, talking about the impact that music has on us as individuals and as consumers.
O’Neal will focus on three topics – rhythm, repetition, and return – which she considers the means by which music makes itself indispensable and unforgettable. She’ll explain the role of each concept and illustrate how they work together to render music such a constant presence in our lives.
The lively – and undoubtedly loud – program is designed to provide an informative session on how music is almost inescapably pervasive and memorable. It will also instantly make you much more conscious of the music all around you in grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, shops, and everywhere else.
If you’d like to see the curtain raised as you understand music’s influence on your life, join us on Tuesday, September 25 at 6:30 pm at the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Branch Library. This special program is hosted by the Sherrills Ford-Terrell Friends of the Library.
