We’ve all seen the ads for reverse mortgages, but do you know what’s really involved with them – and do they make sense for you or your loved one?

After long decades at their jobs, people want to make the most of their retirement years. Reverse mortgages can be useful tools in certain circumstances, but you’ll want to do your homework before making a decision. While many reputable companies are involved in these contracts, knowing the details can help ensure that you’re making the best choice for your own situation.

To shed some light on what can be a confusing topic, Sarah Stamey, specialist with the Western Piedmont Council of Governments’ Agency on Aging, will offer information about who’s eligible, what’s involved, and what heirs can expect with reverse mortgages. She’ll also break down the relevant conditions and offer insight into some of the legalities.
