Kids' Theater: Old MacDonald

Kids' Theater: Old MacDonald

Published: October 02, 2018

While the idea of theater often brings to mind the Great White Way of Broadway or even Shakespeare’s Globe, the practical experience of theater is essentially role-playing and trying on different identities. This fun, playful aspect of theater is what the Green Room Community Theatre’s Limitless Theatre is about.

Believing that theater is available and accessible to everyone, the Green Room has created a troupe that centers around teens and adults with special needs. Whether those needs are cognitive or physical disabilities, they do nothing to staunch the excitement and creativity of these ‘players,’ who love the reality of performing as much as any celebrated thespian.

Limitless Theatre’s latest production is a unique version of Old MacDonald Had a Farm, the familiar kids’ song. It’s a short, action-packed program that will keep children focused on what’s happening on stage. It also offers a terrific opportunity to introduce youngsters to live theater – while being entertaining for folks of all ages. Bring the kids and see the song come to life!

The Limitless show will be presented three times at the library:

  • Conover Branch Library – Wednesday, October 10 at 4:30 pm
  • Main Library in Newton – Wednesday, October 17 at 4:30 pm
  • Maiden Branch Library – Wednesday, October 24 at 4:30 pm
