Healthy Living for Busy Moms

In an effort to balance everything from child care and meal prep to schoolwork and extracurricular activities, moms often find little time to devote to themselves. In the spirit of well-balanced living and self-care, the Library is hosting an 8-week series to help moms achieve good health in the midst of busy schedules and packed calendars.
Among the wellness topics we’ll address are nutrition, meal planning, exercise, and stress management. Participants will have the opportunity throughout to ask questions, receive peer support, and discover ways to overcome their health barriers from a certified health coach. The idea is to foster an encouraging environment for determining what each participant needs in the way of optimal mind-body-spirit stability.
A familiar adage claims that you can’t take care of other people until you take care of yourself. (As flight attendants would tell you, Put on your own oxygen mask before assisting others.) While it’s easy to assume that there’s no time to allot for beneficial sessions like this, dedicating even a few minutes to regrouping and decompressing can ensure that you reap the benefits of better coping techniques and a more positive perception of the challenges you face. You deserve more satisfying days!
