Grandparents Day Social
Published: August 28, 2018
Grandparents and grandchildren often forge special bonds, and the most enviable relationships between the young and the old are typically characterized by an unmistakable freedom and joy in living.
To honor these connections, the Library is hosting a social to bring people together for Grandparents Day (officially observed Sunday, September 9). Families (with members of all ages) are invited to join our celebration and pay tribute to the men and women who nurtured us and sacrificed for us.
During the program, children will interview grandparents and document family history, especially major events like weddings, military service, significant moves, and so on. With this information in mind, they’ll generate family trees to showcase the family’s expansion through births, marriages, and more. To make it even more festive, light refreshments will be served.
If you’d like for your family to participate in this fun, relaxed workshop, join us Saturday, September 1 at 2 pm at the St. Stephens Branch Library. Hopefully, this will be just one episode of many where you come together to reminisce and collect family memories!
